At first glance, it can seem excessive. After all, you're already paying for the rental, so why is such a large deposit necessary?

The simple answer is that luxury and performance cars are very different from standard rental vehicles. The risks, repair costs and responsibilities are on a completely different level.

It's Not a Fee

The first thing to understand is that a security deposit is not an extra charge.

The money remains yours and is returned once the vehicle is brought back in the same condition it was delivered. The deposit simply acts as security during the rental period.

Most customers never have any deductions at all and receive their full deposit back.

Small Damage Can Be Surprisingly Expensive

One reason deposits are higher is that even minor damage can result in expensive repairs.

If there was no deposit, much of that risk would simply be added into the daily rental rate.

In other words, responsible customers would end up paying more for every rental, even when no issues occur.

What Happens When the Rental Ends?

Once the vehicle is returned, it is inspected and compared with the condition recorded at handover.

If everything is as agreed, the deposit is released and returned.

This is exactly how the vast majority of rentals end.

The goal is never to keep a customer's deposit. The goal is simply to ensure that both the vehicle and the rental company are protected while allowing customers to enjoy vehicles that may be worth tens of thousands of euros.
